Shea Pierre Shea Pierre is a New Orleansborn pianist, composer, producer, and educator whose sound reflects the deep musical traditions of his hometown while pushing them forward. He began playing music at age four in church and with his familys gospel group, later honing his craft at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) under mentors including Ellis Marsalis and Jason Marsalis. Pierre went on to study Jazz Studies at the Oberlin Conservatory, developing a style that blends jazz, gospel, blues, hip-hop, and global influences into a voice that is both rooted and contemporary.A respected figure on the New Orleans music scene, Pierre leads his own ensembles and performs regularly at major cultural venues and festivals. He has worked with and alongside notable artists such as Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, Donald Harrison, Weedie Brimah & the Hands of Time, and Fatoumata Diawara, among others.
